Preventing overloads

Nowadays overloading lorries can be quite expensive. Inspections by public authorities become more and more frequent and in some EU countries both the driver and the forwarder are fined for overloading. With an integrated scale on a pallet truck or forklift truck every pallet loaded is instantly weighed.

The forklift truck constantly shows the total loaded weight

The scale on the truck constantly adds up the loaded weights to a total weight, so that at any moment it is known how many kilograms have been loaded onto the lorry. Thus overloading is easily avoided. Since in checking for overloads a few kilograms more or less do not matter, a simple and low cost load indication system suffices, such as the RAVAS RCS hydraulic scale for forklift trucks.

Safe lifting

Next to preventing overloads, safety aspects also play an important role: by installing a scale on the lift truck or reach truck, you also prevent forklifts from lifting loads that exceed their (rest) capacity, and you avoid overloading warehouse racking.
