One of our customers recently started weighing efficiently without any impact on their cross dock operation. Here's how to weigh inbound palletized goods in order to increase revenues. 

Lugato produces chemical products for construction, such as grout, glue, kit and plaster. Customers are DIY stores and builder’s merchants throughout Europe. The order picking at Lugato is done in two shifts of five workers each. Per shift they pick an average 150 orders. Every worker moves about 16.000 kg of goods per shift.

Menzies Aviation, a major player in air cargo, handles transport to and from aircraft at Schiphol Airport. The company handles as much as 430,000 tons of cargo annually. To optimize the process of incoming and outgoing shipments, Menzies opted for weighing forklifts.

Afton Chemical produces fuel and engine oil additives for large oil companies like Shell, Texaco and Total. The oils are mixed ‘on demand’, in large silo’s. 

Quaker works on demand, there is almost no stock keeping of mixed chemicals. The filling is done using explosion safe weighing pallet trucks. ‘The weighing trucks have proved to be indispensable’, says Ad van der Meij (Supervisor Maintenance).
