Initial verifications and recalibrations

Calibration and OIML verification

Calibration of a scale is a verification of the weighing accuracy by means of controlled test weights. Mobile weighing systems with an OIML verification require recalibration every 1 or 2 years in most countries. Initial OIML verifications and recalibrations can only be done by a representative of a certified metrological institute. RAVAS has been certified to do initial verifications and recalibrations of OIML scales, in accordance with Council Directive 2014/31/EU, concerning non-automatic weighing systems.
